Frequently Asked Questions
Will there be any other dogs at my outing appointment?
No, there will be no dogs present except yours! If you have more than one dog you’d like me to take, please note this in the consultation form. It is $10 per additional dog after the first.
How much do you charge for in-home care?
Each visit is $14 and each additional animal is $5 after the first. For example, if you have 4 animals you’d like me to take care of, it will be $29 per visit.
What safety measures are taken when my dog is in your care during an outing?
I have a doggy seat belt in my car, which is a leash with a seat belt buckle that attaches to your dog’s collar. I have an Air Tag, which can be tracked by my phone, that I will be placing on your dog’s collar during our outing. While walking your dog, I will be using a slip lead which helps control pulling. If you have an iPhone, I am happy to share my location with you while your dog is with me. I have a light up collar for walks at dusk + nighttime. There will always be a first aid kit in my car in case of emergency.
Do I need to provide anything for outings?
I will provide a bowl + water for all outings. A collar from home is required. If you have a harness, prong collar, gentle leader, or any form of walking device you would like me to use instead of the slip lead - I am more than happy to!
Do you charge extra for transportation?
No, the price for pick up + drop off is included in the overall price for the appointment. However, if you live further than 15 minutes out of Carbondale, please note that this will be an additional $10 charge to accommodate for the travel.
What if I want a service you don’t offer?
Feel free to fill out the “Contact Me” form on the website or shoot me an email or text to ask.
Can you travel outside of Carbondale?
If you live further than 20 minutes away from Campus Lake (1435 Douglas Dr, Carbondale, IL 62901), please note that there will be an additional $8 charge.
Can you take care of my cat(s) while I’m gone?
Yes! My home care appointments are open to cats and dogs alike.
What if I have to cancel or reschedule due to an emergency?
The cancellation policy states that you must cancel or reschedule outings at least 2 hours (24 hours for in-home care) before appointment time. If there is an emergency, please let me know + we will figure something out.
Is it just you running this business?
Yes, it is just me, Chloe! I am still learning the ropes of all of this, so thank you for being patient, understanding, + supportive as I learn and grow!
Why did you start this business?
In 2020, I moved down to Southern Illinois all by myself and I found myself feeling like I was missing something. Then, a couple years later a little dude with four paws named Doug came into my life + changed it forever. I understand that pets are more than just animals who live with us, they are family + they deserve to be showered with love, attention, + appreciation. I also understand how crazy life can get + how hard it is to juggle everything. I started this business to help owners give their pets a little extra love when they don’t have the time to.
